PPVotes! Rhode Island
In case you haven’t heard, we’re on the brink of passing the Reproductive Health Care Act in Rhode Island. This is the closest we’ve come in years and now we need you to step in and push us across the finish line.
The Reproductive Health Care Act will protect Rhode Islanders’ reproductive rights by ensuring abortion remains safe and legal no matter what happens at the federal level.
Will you help us call supporters of reproductive rights so we can pass this critical legislation? Click HERE to sign up.
We will be holding phone banks starting tomorrow night, and continuing over the next few weeks every night, Monday through Thursday, 5-8 p.m, at the Planned Parenthood offices.
The Reproductive Health Care Act puts into Rhode Island law the main principle of Roe v. Wade, the US Supreme Court ruling that establishes the national right to abortion.
According to January 2017 Pew Research data, 63% of Rhode Islanders support keeping abortion legal in all/most cases.
We only need 8 more legislators to VOTE YES so this can become law.
But here’s the problem: Opponents of reproductive freedom are making calls and spreading misinformation and "alternative facts" about the Reproductive Health Care Act. Our legislators need to know you care about reproductive freedom.
So it’s simple – we need our elected officials to hear from supporters of reproductive freedom. When they hear from their constituents, they will do the right thing and pass the Reproductive Health Care Act.
In fact, why don’t you call your State Representative and State Senator right now? You can learn about the bill and how to look up your own elected officials HERE.
Then you can tell the supporters you call during our phone banks how easy it is!
